For those of you who may have been following this discussion ( inkyorchard.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=handbook&action=display&thread=4) you know that there has been concern raised over identifying the genre of a particular piece without having to read the entire piece. You may read the discussion for further details. As a response, headers will now be required at the beginning of every finished story, finished poem, finished script, and those that are in progress to clearly identify the genre of a work without having to read the entire piece. This is the header format: Title of Piece Genre Word Count This is the minimum information that is required. If you would like to add additional information, such as specifically what aspect of your work you would like feedback on, the mood you were in when you wrote it, what purpose you wrote it for, et cetera, feel free to include that information as well. But you must have the title of the piece, the genre, and the word count. You are not required to go back and modify anything that you have already posted to include this header. But you may do so if you feel so inclined. Thank you.

There is a characters remaining feature, but there is not a word count feature built into this forum. You'll need to do your word count using an outside source. One way is to copy and paste your story into Microsoft Word, AbiWord, or whatever writing software it is that you have on your computer, and check it that way. There are places online where you may enter your text, click submit, and be given a word count. Here are a few that I have used when I haven't had access to a good word program: www.wordcounttool.com/www.javascriptkit.com/script/script2/countwords.shtmlallworldphone.com/count-words-characters.htmwww.iwordcount.com/And of course, there's the good old fashioned way, where you go through and manually count every word. I personally am an advocate of the first approach, usually because my stories are typed out in Word first anyway, but any of these work.
